REUSE ITEMS

Have you been throwing away reusable items? Is that you? Here are some horrible facts I think we can change. The average American throws away 7 pounds of trash daily. There's so much trash that is thrown away in New York that the trash can be seen from space. Trash produces toxic chemicals that can kill animals and people. 30% of landfill’s space is paper. People throw away reusable items that will take years to break down.

Dragging a trash bag to a landfill? Think twice. Here are some reasons to be careful with what you throw out. Reusing items is good for companies instead of having to make new items. If you donate a shirt it can help a family. Landfills are not good for the environment because the animals think the trash is food and eat it. If you recycle an aluminum can it can power a computer for three days. Let's make sure the people in the future have a clean and healthy place to live.

So can we help? Yes! Here are ideas how we can help our planet. Shop at a yard sale. Or have a yard sale at your house with you your family. Reuse old the sport balls. Where hand-me-downs from your family. Do you think you could do one of these things?

Here's things I do to reuse an item instead of throwing it away. I’ve made cat toys out of yarn or string. I made a fort out of used cardboard boxes. I made paint bottles out of yogurt containers. I took a plastic water bottle and made a fly trap. The only limit of reusing an item is your imagination.

So let's make plants, animals, and rivers clean and healthy so. People in the future can have the same back yard as you have.
